Family Support Trust

Where We Work

Family Support Trust (FST) operates across Zimbabwe through a growing network of survivor-friendly clinics and partnerships with government hospitals. These centres serve as safe spaces where survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) can access free, confidential, and compassionate care.

Since its establishment, FST has expanded from a single clinic at Harare Central Hospital to multiple service points across the country. Each clinic provides medical examinations, psychosocial counselling, and legal support for survivors, ensuring that no one is left without help regardless of location.

Our Clinics

FST currently operates four fully managed survivor-friendly clinics and jointly runs two additional clinics in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care. These centres are strategically located to serve both urban and border communities where the risk of gender-based violence is prevalent.

Jointly Operated Clinics (In Partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Care)

These clinics act as central points of care for survivors and also serve as training hubs for health professionals and community facilitators. Through these facilities, FST ensures that survivors receive immediate and quality care, while prevention and outreach initiatives extend beyond the clinic walls to reach surrounding communities.

Reaching Communities

In addition to its clinics, Family Support Trust conducts extensive community-based outreach programmes in both rural and urban areas. Through mobile clinics, school-based initiatives, and local awareness campaigns, the organisation brings essential services and education closer to people who may otherwise not have access to formal support systems.

These outreach efforts:

Increase awareness of SGBV and available services.

Encourage early reporting and treatment.

Our Presence in Zimbabwe

FST’s work spans multiple provinces, reflecting a strong national commitment to ending gender-based violence. The organisation’s footprint ensures that survivors from all regions—urban centres, border towns, and remote areas—can access life-saving services.
